Red String with Heidi
I was inspired by the title sequence of “Ratched” on Netflix, where a protagonist follows a red string through a series of landscapes including a forest. I loved the aesthetic and the added motivation for the sequence. There’s also the “red string of fate” belief from Chinese mythology (also Japanese legend) that states that there is an invisible thread between soulmates. The meaning behind this shoot was more of a discovery of identity and self-love. I personally don’t believe your entire life and happiness should be surrounded around your love or prospective love to someone else, but for yourself and for your own identity. It hurts along the way to finding yourself, hence the bloody hands, but in the end it’s worth it.
